2020 Key West City Employee of The Year Award – Elke Rockteschel

Elke Rockteschel, employee of the year, is walking into a gift shop. The Key West Historic Seaport would like to send a big congratulations to Elke Rockteschel for being recognized as the official 2020 Key West City Employee of the Year!

Doug Bradshaw, the City of Key West Port Director who nominated Elke for the award, says Elke “is in control of the billing for over 250 tenants . . . she’s dedicated, she’ll stay late, she’ll make sure it’s right.”

“Elke was instrumental in implementing the COVID-19 tenant relief package. She went above and beyond to make sure this was implemented as smoothly as possible, and I cannot stress enough how much of an asset she is,” says Christina Bervaldi, Chief Accountant at the City of Key West.

Overall, “I can truly say that I believe she is one that is not irreplaceable. What she brings to the table is dedication to the job like I’ve really never seen before,” according to Port Director Bradshaw.
